CHEMICAL PEELS & DERMAPLANING

CHEMICAL PEEL

A medical grade customized exfoliating peel treatment with brightening enhancers, followed by targeted treatment serums, which will reveal more radiant, soft and luminous skin. Chemical peels have a unique complex of ingredients that decrease the visible signs of aging including fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, like age spots, discoloration and uneven skin tone. Chemical peels also target acne by unclogging pores and calming irritation and redness. A great treatment after the summer months and to help illuminate dull skin.

DERMAPLANING

A zero downtime method of exfoliation that removes peach fuzz and superficial dead skin cells that dull your complexion and cause makeup to appear caked on, especially in certain lighting. Reveal a brighter, softer, glowing complexion. Facial hair will not grow any thicker or faster following the treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

You may notice an improvement with your skin after 1 treatment. For more noticeable results, we suggest 3-4 treatments. Sessions are typically booked 4-6 weeks apart, but may be done sooner. Chemical peels can be alternated with microneedling treatments for added skin rejuvenation benefits.

WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Chemical peels have little to no downtime. Your skin will be dewy and positively glowing immediately after. Mild skin redness/irritation may be present for the remainder of the day however, it generally subsides quickly. Days 4-10 are typically when the superficial layers of the skin will start to peel in various places to reveal even more radiant new skin. Products to hydrate and nourish the skin will be given and suggested following your treatment. You will need to avoid water, steam or sweating for a minimum of 8-12 hours following a Glow Peel.

Much like chemical peels, dermaplaning has no downtime. Mild skin redness/irritation may be present for the remainder of the day however, it generally subsides quickly.

CAN YOU TREAT OTHER AREAS WITH CHEMICAL PEELS?

Yes! Neck, hands and back can be treated as well. Great for those who suffer from bacne (clogged pores/oily skin/break outs on your back).

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?

  • It is recommended to plan any vacations a minimum of 7 days after the procedure (to minimize sun exposure following).

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure 1 week before and after your appointment.

  • Avoid using 'active' or resurfacing skin care 1 week prior (AHA/BHA, other acids, retinols (vitamin A,) exfoliation, benzyl peroxide).

  • Ensure you have no current cold sore breakouts.

  • Certain cosmetic treatments should be performed at a minimum time before your peel:
    - Facials and laser treatments (1 week in advance)
Microdermabrasion and chemical peels (4 weeks in advance)
    - Facial shaving/dermaplaning (24 hours in advance)

  • Fitzpatrick skin types 4-6 (melanin rich skin) may require preconditioning products a couple weeks prior to the professional peel procedure to reduce risks and potential side effects of the treatment - contact us for more info.

WHO IS NOT A CANDIDATE FOR A CHEMICAL PEEL?

  • Pregnant or nursing

  • Contagious skin conditions or infections in the area

  • Skin cancer or radiation therapy in the last year

  • Broken skin (wounds, rashes, blisters, cold sores, active acne, pustule rosacea, eczema, psoriasis or severe solar keratosis)
